About CDA Research

CDA Research is a research arm of the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) with a public health research function and comprises 3 divisions:

1. Research Coordination and Administration (RCA)

2. Singapore Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network (SCRN)

3. CDA Research Laboratory (CRL)

In addition, CDA Research hosts CDA Research Cores as well as 2 National Programmes:

1. Programme for Research in Epidemic Preparedness and Response (PREPARE)

2. Pathogen/Pathway to Vaccine Development to Enhance Singapore’s Pandemic Resilience (PrepVax)

Objectives of CDA Research

The objectives of CDA Research are to:

• Support communicable disease programmes with state-of-the-art research to drive policy decisions;

• Establish and sustain core outbreak research capabilities to generate evidence to guide policy decisions and evidence-based practice in major outbreaks and a pandemic;

• Establish and sustain core national capabilities in infectious disease research in endemic infectious diseases;

• Establish and sustain collaborative national infectious disease research programmes with NCID as strategic outbreak research partner; and

• Engage strategic international partners in research collaborations.
